Single Dental Implants
A single implant may be considered when one tooth is missing. The process involves placing a small titanium post in the jaw, which acts as a new root, before attaching a crown on top. The aim is to create a replacement tooth that looks and functions much like a natural one.
Multiple Dental Implants
Multiple implants may be used to fill the gaps when several teeth are missing. Each implant supports a crown or bridge to restore the space where teeth are absent. This approach may help with chewing function and appearance, while also helping to prevent nearby teeth from shifting into the gaps.
Full Arch Implants
If most or all teeth are missing, or if advanced tooth decay is present, single implants may not be suitable. In these cases, full-mouth implant treatment may be recommended. This approach involves placing four to six implants in the jaw to support a full arch of replacement teeth. It is designed as an alternative to full dentures and aims to restore chewing function and appearance.
